Meet Custom Solutions Developer ERIC PATTERSON

Eric Patterson of MINDSCAPE at Hanon McKendry

“I'm a numbers guy. I have a passion for web analytics. It doesn't matter what I am working on for our clients, I am thinking about how this will impact the numbers.”
Eric Patterson, Custom Solutions Developer // MINDSCAPE AT HANON MCKENDRY

What made you want to become a developer?

"Growing up in the sticks of Michigan, the only two options that filtered to the top on those high school career tests was a doctor or an engineer. No way could I be a doctor, so down the engineering degree path I embarked. I went off to college for computer engineering where I enjoyed the challenge and the final results of the hard work."

What are three things you like most about MINDSCAPE?

"Being able to have your opinion heard, an unlimited supply of coffee, and being trusted to get a job done without anyone watching over your back or pushing for it to be done last week. Two of those are what also helps the company produce amazing outcomes. I will let you decide which two."

What attracted you to MINDSCAPE?

"MINDSCAPE is just one of those companies that “stands out” from the crowd. It is small in size but huge on results. I had a few interactions with various heads of the company before coming to MINDSCAPE, and I realized that it doesn't matter who or where you are working in the company, your opinions are heard and considered. MINDSCAPE has the ability to keep everyone close and bring everyone's talent together to produce great results for the project at hand."

While working, what makes you smile the most?

"This may sound strange from a morlock (underground cave dweller), but making my way topside every morning to get a refill on my coffee, I run into a few co-workers. It doesn't matter what they are doing, they always look up and say “Good morning, Eric”. That makes me smile. The interactions with others and just how personable everyone at MINDSCAPE is."

What do you do for fun?

"Fun? Who has time for fun? When I am not in the office I am typically found outside on my bicycle. Cycling is not just an exercise regiment for me, since it has become a part of my life changing experience. Being on my bike relaxes me and is my “out” from reality. It doesn't matter if I am getting ready for a 100-mile mountain bike race or meeting up friends, when I am on my bike nothing else matters."

If you could say anything to the person reading this, what would it be?

"Live today like it is your last chance to change the world. That is what we do and how we help our clients succeed in today's demanding market."
