What made you want to get into digital marketing?
"I have a programming background, but, after seeing some fancy coding by a former colleague years ago, I realized I was only an average programmer. At a previous company I had the opportunity to step into a leadership role and found that I really enjoyed working with people trying to solve business problems through technology. I also found that I had a knack for coming up with creative ideas for marketing campaigns. My “previous life” as a developer, combined with my creativity and business experience really made digitial marketing a great fit for me. I can easily bridge any communication gaps between business leaders and geeky people. :)"
What attracted you to MINDSCAPE?
"I actually first heard of MINDSCAPE while researching for a web development partner at my last company. MINDSCAPE was not only a great fit technically, but also culturally. I remember meeting Pete and Paul and was so was impressed at their passion towards web development and their commitment to employee happiness. When I was ready to make a move, MINDSCAPE was my first choice!"
What are three things you like most about MINDSCAPE?
"The team: who wouldn’t want to work with such intelligent, talented people who are all so passionate about what they do? The results: I love that MINDSCAPE is focused on results, and I’m happy to be a part of increasing the importance of measurement on everything we do for our clients. The change: being part of an organization that is dedicated to a constant state of self-analysis and improvement definitely fits my style."
While working, what makes you smile the most?
"Sharing moments of success with clients when they start to see the results of their hard work."
What do you do for fun?
"I enjoy travelling with friends and family, playing with my son, and camping during the early spring and late summer or fall. I am a HUGE gadget and technology geek and have been known to buy gadgets just to have them (don't tell anyone, but I actually still love buidling my own computer!). I also have a lot of different skills and interests and like to volunteer those where ever I can."
What's your education background?
"I started my education as a computer science major but found it too impersonal after spending 15 hours in front of computer. I then altered my plans just slightly and decided on vocal performance. I was trained in opera, won some awards and scholarships, but then I realized I’d constantly be auditioning for jobs. I didn’t want that so switched to music education. After FAR more than five years I finally graduated with a degree in public administration from Central Michigan University (Fire up Chips!)."
If you could say anything to the person reading this, what would it be?
"If you’re looking for a company that will focus on measurable outcomes from your site as much as (or maybe even more than) you do, MINDSCAPE is definitely a great match for you! And, if you want to hear a funny story, ask Mark Swanson why he gets a little uneasy whenever he hears Mark Lane say, 'Move Over.'"
