MINDSCAPE at Hanon McKendry is pleased to be a part of the City of Grand Rapids Mayor’s 50 program. This program is designed to give 50 local high school students an opportunity to intern for local businesses. As part of the program, students receive a paid internship, up to ten hours a week for six months. Students complete a vigorous application process to be considered for the program, and are selected by the business based on interest, talent and skills. In addition, the students receive comprehensive training to prepare them for the business world prior to beginning their internship.
Giving back to the community that helped us prosper is something that is important to everyone at MINDSCAPE. The Mayor's 50 Program is another way we can give back by helping shape the lives of young adults around the area. Our students are given the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and learn about Web marketing, project management, social media, and improve their skills for the future. At MINDSCAPE, they are not just interns, they are "Student Leaders of All Things Web." We give them the tools and resources needed to be successful, and look to them to utilize these advantages to maximize their opportunity with us.
We are excited to have the following students as part of our MINDSCAPE family. In addition to learning more about them, please check out their thoughts on their expierences. They have written a blog - in their own words - to share some insight about what it was like to be a "Student Leader of All Things Web".
